Aurora & James: A Cascades Wedding

Aurora & James Delacroix

Aurora & James: A Cascades Wedding, hero image

When Aurora and James reached out, they were clear: they didn’t want a wedding video. They wanted a wedding film. The distinction matters. One is a record, the other is a story.

We spent the week before their September ceremony doing a location scout in Leavenworth, mapping the light. By 4pm, the Cascades catch gold like nowhere else in Washington. We built the entire shoot around that window.

Ceremony coverage began with the quiet prep hour. Aurora getting ready in a converted barn, James hiking with his groomsmen through pine corridor trails. We ran dual-camera on the ceremony itself, with a third operator dedicated to detail work: the hand-stitched veil, the pine cone boutonniere, the hand-stamped programs.

Reception coverage leaned into the lantern-lit outdoor dining setup. We used a vintage anamorphic lens for the toasts. The slight oval bokeh gives the whole sequence a cinematic warmth that matched the evening perfectly.

Delivered as a full-length ceremony record (1:02:00) and a 4-minute cinematic highlight film, color graded to hold the warm amber tones of the late-season light.

Location: Icicle Ridge Winery, Leavenworth, WA Gear: Sony FX3 dual camera, DJI RS3 gimbal, Deity wireless audio Delivered: Cinematic highlight film (4:00), full ceremony record (1:02:00), same-day teaser (0:60)

"We've watched this film probably 50 times. Every time it feels like we're back in that meadow. Fremont Filmworks captured something we didn't even know was happening."
